Christmas Cobwebs
Make this simple project with your preschooler. The Christmas cobwebs can be used as ornaments, decorations, or given as gifts! Based on the heart warming story, Christmas Cobwebs by Terry Widener, your preschooler is sure to enjoy this project!
What You Will Need
Wax Paper
Elmer's Glue (liquid, not glue stick)
Glitter - the color of your preschoolers choice
Festive ribbon
How To Make It
Cut a piece of wax paper into (approximately) a five inch square
Help preschooler "scribble" a design on the wax paper with the glue (the design resembles your preschooler's interpretation of a cobweb)
Make sure the glue design has a place to tie a ribbon after the glue dries (add a loop when your preschooler is finished if necessary)
Sprinkle glitter all over the glue
Allow glue to dry
Peal the cobweb off the wax paper
Tie a ribbon on the cobweb
You now have Christmas Cobwebs of your very own!
Make it More Challenging
Use this opportunity to teach your preschooler about spiders and how they spin their webs. Teach them that spiders are different from insects as they have 8 legs rather than six. Count the legs of spiders in pictures. Diary of a Spider, by Doreen Cronin is a hilariously educational book teaching about a day in the life of a spider from the spider's perspective.
