This family project is a fun way to celebrate giving thanks. Preschoolers are given opportunities to express things for which they are thankful. Preschoolers also hear family members giving thanks as well. This simple project is fun for preschoolers and parents. The end product can be used as a center piece on the dining room table.
What You Will Need
A pine cone - one per turkey
Construction paper
Markers
Glue
Scissors
How to Make It
Cut several ovals out of the construction paper. These will be the feathers on the turkey.
Have preschooler and family members write and draw things for which they are thankful on the ovals.
Glue the ovals to the back of pine cone, standing up straight, to make the pine cone look like a turkey.
Make a turkey face and eyes.
Put the turkey somewhere central. This is a beautiful center piece for the dining room table!
