Quick and Easy Harvest Cupcakes
By Linette GerlachDecorating cupcakes is a fun project when you involve your preschooler. Here are some simple ideas your preschooler will be glad to help you with. Everyone loves cupcakes, and these fun fall patterns will be a hit with your preschooler, and their friends.
What You Will Need
Use a boxed cake mix, and pre-made icing to keep the cupcakes simple.You will also need some festive fall colored sprinkles, pumpkin candies, candy corn, and gel icing.
How To Do It
Pumpkin Patch CupcakesIce your cupcakes with chocolate icing, and add pumpkin candies to the top. Have your preschooler add chocolate sprinkles, to make your icing look like a muddy field. You can also use gel icing to add vines and leaves to your pumpkins.
Spider Web Cupcakes
Ice your cupcakes with white icing, use black gel icing to create a spider web pattern to the top of the cupcake. You can also let your preschooler add a plastic spider ring to each cupcake for a finishing touch.
Candy Corn Pinwheel Cupcakes
Ice your cupcakes with white, chocolate, or yellow icing. Add a few fall sprinkles to the center of the cupcake. Let your preschooler help you add 8 candy corns around the sprinkles to create a pinwheel, or daisy shape.
Rest In Peace Cupcakes
Ice your cupcakes with chocolate icing. Insert a chocolate covered graham cookie to make a tombstone, with RIP written across the top with white gel icing. Let your preschooler add chocolate sprinkles to the cupcake for a finishing touch.
These cupcakes would be a wonderful treat to take to a preschooler Halloween, or Harvest party. Let your preschooler help you create an assortment of cupcakes. Find some festive Halloween, or fall plates, add a couple cupcakes to each plate, with a couple Ghost Sticks. Wrap the plate in festive cellophane, and give them out for Halloween treats to grandparents, teachers, or helpful neighbors.
