Favorites Collages

Making a favorites collage is a quick, simple way to help develop your preschooler's sense of identity. With just a few steps and simple materials, your preschooler can create a display of his or her personality. Your preschooler is able to communicate personal passions during this project.

What You Will Need

Construction paper
Tape or glue
Old magazines
Old pictures
Scissors

How to Make It

Help your preschooler identify favorite foods, colors, and objects in old pictures and magazines.

Cut the pictures out

Tape or glue pictures on your preschooler's favorite color construction paper

Hang the collage in an important place where it will be seen often

Ask your preschooler many questions during this activity such as, "Why do you like pink?" and "How do you feel when you see kittens?" The focus of this project is the process rather than the final product. Creating favorites collages offers an opportunity for your preschoolers to express themselves freely and builds trust in your relationship with your preschooler!
